Alaska- Sitka and a Starfish

Alaska was such a fabulous experience. I spent so much time out on deck of various boats, freezing, but unable to bring myself to lose the splendour of this breathtaking area.  I went out on a Sea Otter Quest and I was really regretting not having a telephoto lens.  I had to keep reminding myself, I don’t shoot long distance very often. Just enjoy the scenery! So here is my token Otter Shot. They are beyond adorable. In the upper right hand area of the photograph are two otters deeply engaged in an upright conversation.

Do you have your invitation says the otter to the other.

I didn’t spend a lot of time in Sitka as I had booked not only the sea otter outing but a whale outing. Next time, more time in town. I did have a scurry around looking for a door and had very little luck.

I just could not stay indoors!

We were heading out to see seals on the beach. My seal shots just looks like lumps on the beach, ( so none here to show you!) but the Captain brought us so close you could reach out and touch the sides of the rocks.

I wasn’t sure if my camera was able to capture the star fish, but hurrah little camera, you worked hard!

Alaska, I had one more stop to make and then it was going to be goodbye, but first, Goodbye to little Sitka, the ship is about to sail.

About susan sheldon nolen

It’s rare to catch me without coffee, a form of camera, or my beloved wire fox terriers. I love the history, the art, and it’s a massive part of my life, as I either paint, write, or get interrupted by my dogs, reminding me of the real world. I hope you enjoy your time here. It’s such a privilege to have readers.
