New Orleans, Jazz and Donkeys

The beautiful iron works of the apartments in New Orléans. Photo (C)susansheldonnolen

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to visit New Orléans again. I fell in love with the charm of the city, the numerous art galleries, and even though it was too short a trip, I managed a few photos to share.

It had just finished raining when this carriage appeared. Photo (C)susansheldonnolen 2012

I love turning corners and discovering little hide aways, here in an alleyway was a little shop.

About susan sheldon nolen

It’s rare to catch me without coffee, a form of camera, or my beloved wire fox terriers. I love the history, the art, and it’s a massive part of my life, as I either paint, write, or get interrupted by my dogs, reminding me of the real world. I hope you enjoy your time here. It’s such a privilege to have readers.

I’ve never been to New Orleans and would love to go. In October, there’s a conference there I’m interested in attending, but it’s a difficult time of year to get away, what with the kids and such. But those photos are great.

    • Hi Crubin, it was an amazing City. I liked it better my second time there. It wasn’t a frantic trip this go round. The food and the people in New Orleans are amazing. It felt like a home away from a home! I hope you do get a chance to go! 😉

  2. I like the third photo, Susan. I’m not sure what it is, but I feel as though I’m being drawn into there and need to have a good mooch around!

I especially love the first pic…windows and stairs and doorways always leading somewhere I can only guess at…

  4. I was just in New Orleans last week, Susan. My cousin lives there.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
