Gordes A Door in Provence

Susan Nolen's Door

I love doors that lean. Although when I go back through some of the photos, I do wonder if it’s me, or is that door is actually leaning? Maybe too many glasses of French Wine? Not possible! It’s always the door that leans!

I loved the muted colours of this beautiful French Town in Provence.  Even though it was hot that day, there was a feeling of calm and softness to the place. The stone buildings of Gordes snuggle into cliffs. When you get up to the very top of the village there is a fabulous view out across fields, forests, and villages, drenched in Provençal light all the way to the Montagne du Luberon. Magnificent!

  1. that is funny about the leaning and French wine = well both seem to settle with age – buildings and wine…. oh I dunno – but great capture – and the little heart swirl decor are unusual… 🙂

    1. :-). I loved the little decorations above the door! I just fell in love with France. ( usually it’s Paris) I hope I go back one day and spend a year there! For right now I will have to be content and just read, A Year In Provence. Haven’t yet!

      1. wellt hat sounds like a good book – and my sister and her husband got back form a Europe trip and they actually said their time in Paris was too long. I had to shake my head and say, “what did you say?” – ha! but I guess they just liked Italy more – but I could handle a year there- oh yeah!
let me know w3hat you think of the book… when you get to it!
